11.22.17 Coffee Break: Solo Dance Party

It is the day before Thanksgiving… If this is your first time stumbling across Coffeehouse Zen, welcome! If you’ve been here before, I am happy that you’re back. The “Coffee Break” series is a weekly blurb on quick tips to help with stress management and improving your mental health.

Do you feel “all over the place”? Family/friends/work/stress of the holidays getting to you? My quick tip today: a solo dance party (ala Merideth Grey and Christina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy)!

Some people either get really excited about this idea or are skeptical because they feel like they can’t dance. If you can walk, you can dance. Just blast some good music and jump around/move/groove. Find a song that makes you want to dance and let the music move you. Depending on the length of the song, your heart and energy will be flowing within 3-5 minutes… unless you’re listening to Bohemian Rhapsody which is a different story.

Go on and get funky! Your body (and soul) will be thankful that you engaged in playful movement today.
